Lilongwe Girls Wins 2025 ATEM Drama Competition

Lilongwe Girls Secondary School has won first place in a national drama competition which was focusing on human and child trafficking and they were given a total of 2 million kwacha prize.
The competition called Joy of Arts was organized by the Association for the Teaching of English in Malawi (ATEM) and was sponsored by Standard Bank of Malawi which brought together almost 18 secondary schools from different parts it the country.
Stella Maris got the second place winning K1.5 million while St. Goretti took third and won K1 million, Chichiri secondary school and Kamuzu Barracks followed in fourth and fifth places respectively.
ATEM chairperson, Davie Mpaso said the performances showed how drama can help young people speak out about serious issues which are happening in our country.
Standard Bank praised the student’s creativity and promised to support them in future.
