Provoice Survives Night Attack by Thugs in Lilongwe

Malawian dancehall artist Provoice Lameck has confirmed that he was attacked by unknown thugs during the night of May 17, 2025.
According to Provoice, the incident occurred in Area 47 Sector 2 of Lilongwe, near the ECG church of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. He explained that he was driving slowly due to the poor condition of the road when the attack happened.
In a video the artist posted on his official Facebook page, Provoice said the thugs suddenly pounced on him, pulling him through the car window while trying to steal his phone and bag.
It is reported that during the attack Provoice bit one of the assailants and fought back, but the robbers managed to escape with his phone and a bag containing K350,000.
Provoice has urged the public to be cautious and called for awareness about the rising cases of violent crime in Lilongwe. He expressed willingness to work with law enforcement agencies by using his platform to raise awareness and promote safety.
He also warned residents to avoid moving around at night when possible and to always lock their car doors, especially when driving through known crime hotspots.
