Two Arrested Over Murder of Suspected Maize Thief in Balaka

Balaka Police are keeping in custody two people in connection with the murder of Steven Holoko, 58, who was caught stealing maize in a garden in Balaka District.
Balaka Police publicist, Gladson M’bumpha, said the suspects, Geoffrey Daudi Gangire, 45, and Daudi Lule, 35, are accused of having committed the offence on 6 May this year at Sikelo Village in Sub Traditional Authority Mbera in the District.
M’bumpha said police investigation by detectives led to the arrest of the men on 22 May this year.
Gangire hails from Chipatala Village in the area of Sub Traditional Authority Mbera in Balaka, while Daudi Lule is from Petekula Village in Traditional Authority Kainga Machinga.
