Just days after being fired as head coach of Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos, Andrew Bunya has officially announced his entry into full-time politics.

Speaking to this publication, Bunya revealed that he will be contesting for Member of Parliament for Dedza-Boma Constituency under the UTM party in the upcoming general election scheduled for September 16 this year.

He said the decision follows calls from several community members, including traditional leaders and local authorities, urging him to consider representing them in Parliament.

When asked about his political experience, Bunya said that although he has spent many years in the world of football, he has positively impacted many lives through various efforts and now wants to serve people through a different path: politics.

His main goals include empowering the youth in the area, economically uplifting women, and ensuring meaningful development initiatives that will improve the lives of his constituents.
