Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Vice President for the North and Rumphi North MP, Jappie Mhango, has been taken to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) offices in Mzuzu for a caution statement following his arrest on abuse of office charges.

He is accused of authorizing the sale of government houses at undervalued prices, benefiting his relative and others, and giving false information to investigators.

Mhango spent the night in custody at Mzuzu Police Station. His lawyer, Charles Lupande, is present for the process.

DPP officials and supporters, including Norman Chisale and Chimwemwe Chipungu, accompanied him to the ACB offices.
