Six Candidates in Thyolo Miss JCE Exams Over Payment Issues

Zumani Community Day Secondary School Headteacher in Thyolo, Francis Zinamo, has confirmed that 6 students have failed to sit for their 2025 Junior Certificate of Education (JCE) examinations today after one of their teachers failed to process examination fees due to network problems.

According to one of the parents of the affected students, they were informed about the matter only a day before the exams started and they reported the case to Masambanjati police station.

Masambanjati Police Spokesperson, Amos Banda said they received the case and investigation are still ongoing to find out what really happened.

Meanwhile , Malawi National Examination Board (MANEB) Spokesperson Angella Kashitigu, said they have not received any official report but she emphasized  that students who do not pay the required amount of money are not registered and they can not sit for exams.

Over 166,000 students across Malawi have started writing their exams today.
