Six Arrested for Various Offences in Machinga

Machinga Police have arrested six individuals in connection with multiple criminal offences following an intelligence-led operation conducted during the night of June 2, 2025.
Confirming the arrests, Machinga Police Public Relations Officer Sergeant Western Kansire said the suspects were apprehended within the district’s policing area.
Those arrested have been identified as Keneth Mpepe (41), Edward Tsamira (35), Isaac Mpepe (34), along with three others whose names have not yet been disclosed. The individuals face a range of serious charges, including theft, impersonating a public officer, intimidation, robbery, and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Sergeant Kansire further stated that the suspects are currently in police custody and will appear in court once all necessary documentation has been finalized.
Police have reiterated their commitment to ensuring community safety and urged the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by reporting suspicious activities.
