
Phalombe Primary Learners Visit Court to Learn About Justice System

Standard 7 learners from Ufa Primary School in Phalombe Visited the Phalombe Magistrate Court to learn and understand how the court system of Malawi works.
This follows concerns from the Phalombe First Grade Magistrate, Leonard Fletcher Mtosa, who said there is a rise in child rape cases in the district.
Mtosa explained that some some people are abusing children because of harmful beliefs, such as thinking that sleeping with a child can bring success in business.
The Magistrate urged parents and teachers to protect children from harmful practices, saying the court receives these cases almost everyday.
Ufa School Head teacher, Liston Bello said the school is committed to keep learners safe, especially girls from abuse and other things that can disturb their education.
These harmful beliefs are encouraging child abuse are also putting children at risk, let us focus on protecting the rights and safety of every child.
