Mzuzu Principal Resident Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to Democratic Progressive Party(DPP) Deputy Director of Operations, Bonface Kashololo.
Passing the bail ruling, Principal Resident Magistrate Clemence Chamwenda said the accused must pay a cash bond of K500,000, a surety bond of K2 million, surrender traveling documents to the court and should be reporting at Mzuzu Police Station every two weeks on Mondays.
He faces the charges of common assault, misconduct and intimidation at Mzuzu Police Station after he allegedly harassed Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) journalist, Alex Mwangosi.
Mwangosi had gone to the police station to cover a story of the arrest of DPP’s Jappie Mhango.
The case has been adjourned to 24 June, 2025.
