Phwedo’s Case Returns to Court Today

The case involving actor Tumpe Mtaya, also known as Phwedo, is expected to resume in court today. Mtaya is facing serious charges of child sexual abuse and child trafficking.
The matter was last heard on May 16, when the court adjourned proceedings and issued a directive to the government.
The court ordered that, within 14 days, the state must provide the defence with the Form Four identification of the child alleged to have been sexually abused.
Today’s session is expected to review compliance with that order and continue with the hearing of the case.
