Man Arrested for Defil!ng 12-Year-Old Girl In Cassava Field

Police in Karonga have arrested a 38-year-old man on suspicion of allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl.
Karonga Police Public Relations Officer, Margret Msiska, has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as , Lameck Mtete.
According to Msiska, the suspect allegedly lured the young girl with K300 and took her to a cassava field where he committed the assault.
Msiska further stated that passersby witnessed the incident and quickly reported it to the police. Medical examinations later confirmed that the girl had indeed been defiled.
Lameck Mtete, who hails from Sefu Village under Traditional Authority Kyungu in Karonga, is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges of defilement.
