Paul Pogba Rumoured to Join AS Monaco

French midfielder Paul Pogba is rumoured to be making a shock return to professional football with a potential move to AS Monaco.
The 32-year-old former Juventus and Manchester United star has been out of action due to an 18-month suspension for doping, which ended in March. He terminated his contract with Juventus in November 2024 and has since been weighing his options for a comeback.
If confirmed, the move to Monaco would mark Pogba’s debut in Ligue 1 a surprising twist in a career that once saw him crowned world champion with France in 2018, before being hampered by injuries and off-field issues, including an extortion case involving his own brother.
Monaco, who are also reportedly pursuing FC Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, appear to be betting on players seeking redemption. Fati, 22, once heralded as Lionel Messi’s heir, has similarly struggled with injuries.
The French summer transfer window remains open until September 1, 2025.
