Blue Eagles FC Appoints ‘Deklerk Msakakuona’ as Permanent Head Coach

Blue Eagles Football Club has officially confirmed the appointment of Deklerk Msakakuona as the club’s new head coach with immediate effect.

Msakakuona, who has been serving as caretaker coach since May 29, 2025, following the resignation of Elia Kananji, has now been entrusted with the top role on a permanent basis.

In a statement released on Today on 18 June 2025, the club said Msakakuona has demonstrated “exemplary leadership, tactical acumen, and a deep commitment to the club’s vision” during his interim tenure  qualities they believe are vital to leading the team forward.

A seasoned football tactician and former Technical Director at Blue Eagles, Msakakuona brings with him a wealth of experience, including time with Malawi’s national teams.

“His promotion reflects the club’s confidence in his ability to inspire performance, develop talent, and drive the team toward greater success,” reads part of the statement.

The club has called on supporters, partners, and stakeholders to rally behind the new coach as he leads the team into what it describes as “an exciting new chapter.”

Further announcements on Msakakuona’s backroom staff and upcoming strategies are expected in due course.
