FDH Bank has announced an increase in sponsorship for the FDH Bank Cup from K150 million to K250 million, reflecting its continued commitment to Malawian football.

Speaking during the draw for this year’s edition held today at Mpira Village in Chiwembe, Blantyre, the bank’s Head of Marketing, Ronald Chimchere, said the increment has been made in response to the rising cost of goods and services in the country.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) General Secretary Alfred Gift Gunda expressed gratitude to FDH Bank for the gesture, noting the increase will go a long way in enhancing competition and rewarding excellence.

According to the new prize structure:

  • The champions will receive K45 million
  • The runners-up will pocket K20 million
  • Semi-finalists will walk away with K8 million each
  • Outstanding regional teams will each get a full uniform kit and K1.5 million

This move positions the FDH Bank Cup as one of the most lucrative football tournaments in Malawi.
