
Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Robbery in Mzimba

The Second Grade Magistrate Court in Mzimba has sentenced Chipiliro Postano, 25, to five years imprisonment with hard labor for robbery.
According to Constable Precious Mzunga, Assistant Public Relations Officer at Jenda Police Station, “The court highlighted that robbery is a serious offense punishable by up to life imprisonment, and the sentence aims to deter other would-be offenders.”
Postano was found guilty of stealing a motorcycle valued at K1.5 million and a top garment from a victim in Vibangalala area on April 18, 2025.
The suspect was apprehended at Jenda Trading Centre while wearing the stolen garment.
