Police Seize 45 Litres of Black Market Fuel in Mwanza

Police in Mwanza District have confiscated 45 litres of petrol during a special operation targeting illegal fuel vendors.
According to Mwanza Police Public Relations Officer, Hope Kasakula, the operation was part of an intelligence-led sweep aimed at curbing black market fuel sales within the district.
Kasakula explained that most vendors fled the scene, abandoning their fuel stock as police officers closed in. The seized fuel was reportedly being sold at K6,000 per litre, well above the official pump price.
He added that investigations are still ongoing to track down the culprits behind the illegal trade.
