Liverpool Forward Diogo Jota Reportedly Dies in Car Crash in Spain

Portuguese footballer and Liverpool star Diogo Jota has reportedly died following a car accident in Spain, according to Spanish outlet Marca. The 28-year-old forward was said to have been involved in a fatal crash early this morning in the province of Zamora.

The accident allegedly occurred near kilometer 65 on the A-52 highway, close to the Sanabria region. Reports indicate that the vehicle Jota was traveling in veered off the road and caught fire.

Also in the car was Jota’s younger brother, 26-year-old Andre Jota, a professional footballer from Penafiel. Further details on his condition have not been confirmed.

Authorities are yet to officially verify the incident, and Liverpool FC has not issued a public statement as of now.
