Former Silver Strikers Star ‘Chimwemwe Idana’ Unveiled as Zanaco FC Player

Zambian Premier League side Zanaco FC has officially announced the signing of Malawian midfielder Chimwemwe Idana, 26, on a two-year contract.
The former Silver Strikers player is among eight new signings unveiled by the club as part of its squad overhaul ahead of the 2025/2026 MTN Super League season.
The Lusaka-based club confirmed the deal in a statement, expressing confidence in Idana’s ability to bring creativity and experience to the midfield.
“Zanaco Football Club is pleased to announce the acquisition of eight new players,” the statement read. “These strategic additions aim to strengthen key areas of the squad and position the club for a highly competitive and successful campaign.”

Chimwemwe Idana (Malawi): Midfielder, from Silver Strikers – 2-year deal
Ian Sindayi: Midfielder, from Forest Rangers – 2-year deal
Francis Mwansa: Goalkeeper, free agent from Green Buffaloes -3-year deal
Tinkler Sinkala: Central defender, from Kabwe Warriors – 3-year deal
Garvin Mukandamweene: Left-back, from Trident FC – 2.5-year deal
John Chishimba: Left-back, from Zesco United – 2-year deal
Chipo Manda: Midfielder, loan from Kafue Celtic – 2 seasons
Eliya Mandanji: Striker, loan from Kafue Celtic – 2 seasons
Zanaco FC says the blend of local and international talent is intended to bolster squad depth and challenge for top honors in the upcoming season. Fans are hopeful that the new signings, including Malawi international Idana, will bring fresh momentum to the team.
Idana, known for his sharp vision and composure in midfield, is expected to play a key role in Zanaco’s 2025/26 season.
