Malawian sensational artist Patience Namadingo, popularly known as Namadingo or Doc, has announced plans to construct a hospital along the Chitipa – Nthalire stretch in the northern region of Malawi.
The beloved musician made the announcement on his official Facebook page last night, expressing his passion for development and service to rural communities.
“I have decided to construct a hospital on the Chitipa-Nthalire stretch,” he wrote.
“Next week Friday I arrive in Chitipa, driven and inspired by what we have been able to do at Wataka Primary School in Machinga. I now deeply believe we can do more all over Malawi.”
Namadingo’s statement comes as he continues to use his platform and resources to champion community development projects, particularly in underserved areas.
The announcement has generated excitement across social media, especially following the support he has received from the Minister of Health, Hon. Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda, who has contributed K1 million towards the hospital project.
This marks a significant moment for Namadingo, especially considering a previous incident in which health officials in Mangochi rejected his offer to repair broken-down ambulances, citing procedural issues.
Despite that setback, the artist’s efforts have now gained recognition at the ministerial level, further cementing his reputation as not only a music icon but also a social impact figure.
Namadingo is expected to travel to Chitipa next Friday to begin preparations for the hospital project. His gesture has been widely praised as an example of how public figures can leverage their influence to bring real change to communities in need.
