Ronald Ngwira Appointed Managing Director of Illovo Sugar Malawi

Illovo Sugar Malawi has appointed Ronald Ngwira as its new Managing Director, effective 8 September 2025.
The announcement was made through a letter signed by the company’s Board Chairperson, Jimmy Lipunga.
Ngwira, who previously served as Managing Director of Pyxus Agriculture, takes over from Lekani Katandula.
Katandula was promoted to the position of Chief Financial Officer for Associated British Foods (ABF), and is now based in the United Kingdom. His promotion took effect in January 2025.
The new Managing Director holds a Master’s Degree in Project Management from Bolton University in the UK, and a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and Computer Science from the University of Malawi.
