Fire Claims Lives of One-Year-Old Twins in Kasungu

Information reaching us indicates that a fire has killed one-year-old twins after the house they were left in burned down in Kasungu District.

Traditional Authority Chisinga confirmed the incident.

According to Henz Kamanga, who rushed to the scene, the children’s mother, Monica Kenkere, had left them alone in the house with a candle burning while she went to the market to buy groceries.

“The candle flame ignited the clothes the children were wearing and burned them terribly until they died on the spot,” Kamanga said.

Police in the district have not yet commented on the incident.
