Zambian Businesswoman Faith Musonda Charged With Espionage After Breaching Presidential Residence
Zambian businesswoman Faith Musonda has officially been charged with espionage, in addition to an earlier charge of criminal trespass, following a shocking incident in which she allegedly attempted to access Community House the official residence of President Hakainde Hichilema on July 2, 2025.
According to a statement by Zambia Police Assistant Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha, the 41-year-old is accused of unlawfully driving a Toyota Fortuner, registration number BBA 8874, into the New Kasama residential area between 12:30 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., without any official clearance.
Police say Musonda was intercepted at the gate by alert officers who were manning the property and found her presence at the high-security premises unauthorized and suspicious.
Preliminary investigations prompted authorities to elevate the charges to espionage, given the sensitive nature of the location she attempted to access.
Musonda is currently in police custody and is expected to appear before the courts soon. Further details, including her motive, remain under investigation.
