27-Year-Old Woman Dies After Touching Exposed Electric Wires While Mopping Floor in Ndirande

A 27-year-old woman, Ndaziona Grant, has died from an electric shock at her house in Makata, Ndirande.
Chibisa Mulimbika, Public Relations Officer for Ndirande Police, said that the victim was mopping the floors of her house when she accidentally touched unwrapped electric wires, where she got electrocuted and fell unconscious.
Her neighbour rushed over when she heard her screaming and alerted police, who quickly visited the scene. The victim was rushed to Ndirande Health Centre, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A postmortem conducted at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital confirmed that the victim had died by electrocution.
