The case involving Dutch national , who is accused of sexually abusing young boys, continued today at the Chief Resident Magistrate’s Court in Blantyre.

Akster, who previously served as a finance officer at the Timotheos Foundation in Malawi, is alleged to have abused boys who were under the organization’s care and benefitting from its school fee support programme.

The case, which has dragged on for over four years, resumed with the court hearing testimony from one of the alleged victims, who gave a detailed account of the abuse.

The accused was arrested following reports that he took advantage of vulnerable boys between 2017 and 2019. The case has since been adjourned multiple times, sparking concern among child rights advocates over delays in justice.

Authorities say more witnesses are expected to testify as the court proceedings continue.
