Justice Justus Kishindo is today expected to deliver a ruling at the High Court in Mzuzu in a case involving Trade Minister Vitumbiko Mumba and the Malawi Congress Party (MCP).
Mumba is challenging the results of the MCP primary elections for Mzimba Central Constituency, claiming the process was flawed.
Adamson Kuseri Mkandawire was declared the winner of the disputed primaries.
Unsatisfied with the outcome, Mumba took the matter to court seeking nullification of the results.
Both Mkandawire and Mumba’s lawyer, Khumbo Soko, were present at the court this morning, though Mumba had not yet arrived.
Justice Kishindo is expected to determine whether the MCP followed proper procedures in conducting the primary election.
