Former CMC Executive Secretary Pastor Brian Chafunya Dies at 49

Pastor Brian Chafunya, former Executive Secretary of the Central Malawi Conference (CMC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, has passed away this morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe.
According to a statement from the CMC, his body will be collected today and taken to Chiuzimbi SDA Church in Area 25 for a funeral service.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday at Nachiye Village, Traditional Authority Kwataine in Ntcheu.
At the time of his death, Pastor Chafunya was serving as minister of Chiuzimbi SDA Church, having previously held roles at Lilongwe Central Church, Salima, and served as CMC Executive Secretary from 2019 to 2022.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
