Husband & wife arrested for possessing unlicensed gun in Mangochi

Police in Chiponde, Mangochi District, have arrested Sakina Mustapha, 21, and her husband Shukuran Maxon, also 21, on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a permit.
Mangochi Police spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi said Sakina was arrested at Chiponde Market on suspicion of stealing clothes. “When police searched her bag, they found a gun, which is said to belong to her husband, Shukuran Maxon,” Daudi said.
She added that the suspects will appear in court to answer charges of possessing a dangerous weapon.
