Castel Malawi Limited has launched an investigation into suspected counterfeit products following viral images circulating on social media.

In a statement made available to Face Of Malawi, Managing Director Thomas Reynaud expressed concern over the fake products allegedly being sold under the Castel brand, particularly Malawi Gin, Malawi Vodka, and Premier Brandy.

“The products seen in recent publications do not display either a batch number or tax stamp,” Reynaud said, adding that the company encourages anyone in possession of such suspicious items to report them immediately.

Reynaud further clarified that Castel Malawi has not made any changes to the recipes or alcohol content of any of its beverages. He reassured customers that all authentic Castel products remain:

Unchanged in recipe and alcohol levels
Traceable via batch number and tax stamp
Certified by the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) and the Competition and Fair Trading Commission (CFTC)

The company emphasized its commitment to quality, heritage, and consumer trust, urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspected counterfeits to relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, some Castel products   including Malawi Gin and Brandy  remain in short supply on the market, raising further concern over counterfeit alternatives.
