Salima Court Slapped 2 Men 14 Year Jail Term For Chewing Minors

Salima First Grade Magistrate’s Court has separately convicted and sentenced two men to 14 years imprisonment with hard labour for defilement contrary to section 138(1) of the penal code.
Maxwell Kumbirani (42) defiled a 11-year old girl while Frank Robert (25) defiled a 10-year-old girl at Yoseke and Tambala villages, respectively.
State prosecutor Justice Manolo asked the court to impose a harsher sentence on both convicts, arguing that the offence was serious.
First grade magistrate Anthony Banda handed down the 14-year prison sentences to deter other would be offenders.
Kumbirani comes from Matanda village, Traditional Authority Khombedza while Robert is from Ngolomi village in Traditional Authority Kambwiri.
