Police at PIM in Chiradzulu have arrested two men for allegedly stealing K10.2 million from their 77-year-old aunt.

Chiradzulu Police spokesperson Cosman Kagulo identified the suspects as Mussah Hassan Twalibu, 32, and Leo Evance Maduka, 42, both from Traditional Authority Onga.

“It is alleged the woman had sold her land to Portland Cement Company and received K10.9 million through a cheque .The money was withdrawn at FDH Bank in Balaka on July 10.” he said.

Kagulo said the suspects only deposited K700,000 in the aunt’s account without her knowledge and kept the remaining K10.2 million.
“She discovered the theft on July 23 when she tried to withdraw money and found the account nearly empty,” Kagulo explained.
