Michael Usi Arrives at BICC to Launch Presidential Bid

The leader of the Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu party, Michael Usi—who also serves as the country’s Deputy President—has arrived at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe to submit his letter of intent to contest in the upcoming presidential election.
Supporters of the party gathered at the venue ahead of his arrival, showing their support as Usi becomes the first presidential candidate to file nomination papers, according to the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC). He was scheduled to arrive at the BICC at 9:00 AM.
