Mighty Wanderers have officially parted ways with midfielder Francisco Madinga after the player declined to renew his contract with the club.

The team’s Chief Executive Officer, Panganeni Ndovi, confirmed the development, stating that negotiations collapsed after Madinga failed to sign a proposed new deal.

“The plan was for him to sign the contract by yesterday after we gave him the offer on Wednesday, but he hasn’t put pen to paper,” said Ndovi.

Madinga, 26, was notably absent from the squad that traveled to Mzuzu on Saturday for the TNM Super League clash against Moyale Barracks at Rumphi Stadium. He was also not part of the team during last weekend’s trip.

It is reported that Madinga was demanding a monthly salary of K900,000 and a K10 million signing-on fee for a two-year contract extension  a package the Nomads management was unwilling to meet.

With no agreement reached, both parties have now gone their separate ways, bringing Madinga’s time at Lali Lubani Road to an end.
