Old Mutual sponsors BAM lake conference with MK7.5 million

One of the leading Insurance companies in the country, Old Mutual Malawi has donated MK7.5 million towards this year’s lake conference organized by the Bankers Association of Malawi (BAM).
This year’s lake conference which is slated for 14th to 16th August will be held under the theme: “Facing the Future, Together: The Phenomenal Power of Synergy.”

Speaking after presenting the Cheque Old Mutual Life Assurance Operations Manager Arthur Madzedze said the company recognized the role that BAM plays in promoting policy dialogue hence the donation.
“Banks remain our key partners in distribution of our products, collecting premiums and payment of our benefits. Old Mutual has an active Bancassurance section which develops and maintains strategic collaborations with various banks within the country. This capability enables us to extend our insurance solutions directly to customers within their banking systems making it more convenient for the customer.

“Successful delivery of such collaborative services therefore depends on and benefit from the strength of the banking system. It is for this reason that we remain deliberate in supporting the industry forum such as this one,” said Madzedze.
On her part BAM Chief Executive Officer Lyness Nkungula hailed Old Mutual for the financial support.
Nkungula said the sponsorship will enable the association hold an impactful event as the funds will help the association pay some services.
