32 Arrested for Alleged Chicken Theft at Central Poultry in Lilongwe

Police in Lilongwe have arrested 32 people suspected of being part of a mob that looted live chickens from Central Poultry, located under Traditional Authority M’bwatalika.
According to Lilongwe Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, some residents from the area around Group Village Head Nakuwawa allegedly threatened security guards and began stealing chickens on Monday, with the looting continuing into Tuesday.
Police have condemned the act and said more arrests are expected as investigations continue.
