Six Dead, 14 Injured in Fatal Minibus Accident in Machinga

Six people, including three children, have died in a tragic road accident that occurred at Molipa in Machinga District.
Eyewitnesses at the scene say 14 other passengers sustained injuries, and were rushed to Machinga District Hospital. Those with critical injuries were later transferred to Zomba Central Hospital for advanced treatment.
The victims were traveling in a minibus from Ngokwe in Machinga to Limbe in Blantyre via the Ntaja Liwonde Road when the accident happened.
According to Liwonde Police spokesperson Ngwashale Msume, the minibus was carrying 20 people and the crash was caused by overspeeding.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.
