The People’s Development Party (PDP) has asked doctor and singer Dr. Joram Nyirongo to apologise to its leader, Kondwani Nankhumwa, for derogatory remarks made about him on the doctor’s online platform.
In recent days, the website attracted criticism for insulting Nankhumwa’s appearance.
Dr. Nyirongo issued a letter of apology to Malawians and fellow doctors, claiming that the offensive comments were posted by individuals who had stolen his phone.
However, a statement released by the PDP and signed by its spokesperson, Rhodes Msonkho, expressed disappointment that the doctor did not apologise directly to Nankhumwa, who was the main target of the insults.
The party maintains that Nyirongo should personally apologise to its leader.
