ust days after Thanzi Farm was stormed in M’bwatalika, Lilongwe, nearby farms owned by Central Poultry (CP) Limited have also been attacked and vandalised.
The assailants looted chickens, farm equipment, and personal belongings of workers.
Critical infrastructure such as water tanks, pumps, fans, lights, and toilets were also destroyed.
At Khasu Farm alone, over 28,000 chickens were stolen, with the total loss across all affected farms exceeding 55,000 birds.
CP’s marketing and PR manager, Jessica Kadzakumanja, said they are still assessing the full extent of the damage.
Preliminary estimates place the losses between K2.5 billion and K3 billion.
