Man Caught with ARVs, Contraceptives at Mwanza Border On His Way To South Africa

Police in Mwanza have arrested Issah Hassan, a 42-year-old man, for being found in possession of hospital drugs without proper authorization.
According to Mwanza Police spokesperson, Hope Kasakula, the suspect was apprehended at the Mwanza border post as he attempted to travel to South Africa.
Kasakula revealed that Hassan was found with various medical drugs including contraceptives, painkillers, antiretroviral (ARV) drugs, and several others.
The suspect, who hails from Kanyangale Village under Traditional Authority Mwadzama in Nkhotakota District, is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges of illegal possession of medical drugs.
Police have since warned the public against transporting or possessing medical supplies without following proper legal procedures.
