USA – A British man, Mark Gibbon, 62, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to drown his daughter-in-law during a family holiday in Florida.

The incident occurred at the Solterra Resort in Davenport, near Disney World, where the family was staying.

Authorities say the attack stemmed from a dispute over a will and happened in the resort’s swimming pool.

Gibbon allegedly pushed 33-year-old Jasmine Wyld underwater multiple times as she struggled to escape.

Wyld’s nine-year-old daughter attempted to intervene but was reportedly pushed away by Gibbon.

Witnesses said they saw Gibbon holding Wyld underwater and scratching her chest during the attack.

The assault ended when bystanders told Gibbon they had called the police.

Gibbon admitted to pushing Wyld under the water but denied trying to kill her.

He is now facing charges of attempted second-degree murder and battery, while the victim did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
