Goodwin Chinseu, Maria Tandwe shine during Old Mutual Executive Golf Tournament

Goodwin Chinseu and Maria Tandwe on Saturday outclassed over 80 golfers (men and women) to emerge as Champions during this year’s Old Mutual Executive Golf Tournament held at Blantyre Sports Club.

The two went away with Mk1 million kwacha each and a trophy. While Diana Kambale went away with MK750, 000 cash and a trophy for emerging as runners up in the Ladies Category and Faith Samati came third and went away with MK500,000 and a trophy.

In the men’s Category, Khumbo Mkandawire emerged as runners up with Kaluso Chihana coming third and each went away with MK750, 000 and MK500, 000 cash respectively with a trophy.

Speaking after the prize presentation Old Mutual Group Chief Executive Officer Tavona Biza said he was expressed with the turnout of golfers to the tournament.

He then pledged to continue hosting the tournament.

“Events like these give us a chance to step back from our busy schedules and connect in a more relaxed setting. They allow us to interact beyond boardroom discussions and share ideas in a way that strengthens mutual understanding.

“We are especially encouraged by the strong turnout and the caliber of golfers who took part today. The excitement shown reflects the shared value we see in our continued partnership,” said Biza.

Biza went further to say that the company will continue creating positive impact to the lives of its customers.

“Beyond our core service, we are also playing our role in growing the economy through investment in key sectors like agriculture, energy and infrastructure. All these, align with Malawi’s development ambitions.

“This is the journey we are proud to be taking with every Malawian,” added Biza.

This year’s golf tournament was held under the theme; “Swinging into the Mutual future”, and similar tournament will be held in Lilongwe on August 23, 2025.
