18-Year-Old Arrested for Alleged R4pe and Murd3r of 5-Year-Old cousin in Phalombe

Police in Phalombe have arrested an 18-year-old man accused of raping and killing his 5-year-old cousin in a shocking case that has left the community in distress.
The suspect, identified as Vincent Tawombe from Nanyalo Village under Senior Chief Nkhulambe, allegedly lured the young girl to his home, which is located near her parents’ residence.
According to Deputy Police Commissioner Marco Mvukuta, the girl had frequently visited the suspect’s house to play. However, on the day of the incident, she did not return home.
The child’s mother went to Tawombe’s house in search of her daughter. Upon entering, she made a horrifying discovery the little girl’s lifeless body lying on the floor.
A postmortem examination revealed that the victim had been raped before being strangled to death.
Tawombe has been arrested and is expected to appear in court soon to face charges. Police have condemned the brutal act and assured the public that justice will be served.
The incident has sparked anger and grief in the area, with residents calling for swift legal action. Authorities are urging parents to remain vigilant about their children’s safety
