Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu leader who is also the vice president of Malawi, Dr. Michael Usi, has told Malawians to stop demanding that he “fix the country” simply because he is part of government, saying he is not the one in the driver’s seat.
Usi likened himself to a passenger in a minibus, not the driver steering the nation’s course.
“I am just riding in the minibus like everyone else I’m not driving it,” he said.
Usi also hit out at the state of affairs in Malawi, saying everything now is in disarray from the purchase of fuel, fertilizer, and sugar things which, he noted, “never happened during the Kamuzu Banda era.”
He concluded by telling Malawians that there is no justice or peace in the country, and that anyone who wishes to challenge him is free to do so.
Usi made the remarks while wrapping up his roadside meeting at the old depot in Ntcheu District, on his way to Blantyre.
