Man Nabbed Over Housebreaking and Theft in Nkhata Bay

Nkhata Bay Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for allegedly breaking into the house of Mr. Greyshom Nthala, 25, and stealing a wallet containing two National Identity Cards, a Voter’s Certificate, and K35,000 in cash.
Nkhata Bay Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Devoter Mithi has confirmed the arrest and identified the suspect as Bethan Nthala, 27, of Chapumbwa Village, under Traditional Authority Mkumbira in Nkhata Bay District.
According to Mithi, Police detectives apprehended the suspect following a tip-off from community members.
The suspect is currently in police custody and has been charged with housebreaking and theft expecting to appear before the court once paperwork is completed” she said.
