Zambia Police Arrest Man Who Attacked His Ex-employer And wife In An Armed Robbery

The Zambia Police Service has confirmed the arrest of 21-year-old Ezekiel Zimba, the prime suspect in an aggravated robbery that occurred in the early hours of 16th August 2025 in Olympia, Lusaka.
According to police, Zimba, a former employee of the victim, allegedly attacked 37-year-old Indian national, Mr. Abhay Gujar, alongside three unidentified accomplices. The gang, armed with machetes and screwdrivers, is reported to have stolen $1,200, K2,000 and property worth K48,759.
Police Spokesperson Chipo Kaitisha said Zimba was apprehended on 17th August 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Old Ng’ombe Compound, where he resides. During the arrest, officers recovered two stolen mobile phones — a Samsung Galaxy M33 valued at K6,000 and an iPhone 8 Plus valued at K3,500.
“The suspect is currently in police custody, and efforts to arrest the three remaining suspects are ongoing,” Kaitisha said.
