Mzuzu City Council Workers Sit-In Over Pay and Pensions Enters Second Day

Around 300 Mzuzu City Council workers are continuing a sit-in, demanding a 10% salary increase and 25% pension remittance to Nico Life.

Workers’ leader Typen Kamanga says they want to engage the Ministry of Local Government, not just the Labour Ministry.

Council spokesperson McDonald Gondwe warns the strike may disrupt market sanitation, leading traders to boycott daily fees.
