The opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has announced that its leader, former president Arthur Peter Mutharika, will officially hit the campaign trail tomorrow, Thursday, ahead of next month’s elections.

According to the party, Mutharika is scheduled to hold whistle-stop rallies in Nsipe, Ntcheu Boma, and at the Tank in Lilongwe.

On Friday, the DPP leader is expected to continue his campaign in Lilongwe before proceeding to the Northern Region, where he is set to address rallies at Jenda Trading Centre in Mzimba.

The DPP says the rallies mark the beginning of Mutharika’s nationwide campaign as he seeks a return to power.
