Veteran striker Muhammad Sulumba has rejoined Mighty Wanderers FC on a seven-month contract, with Coach Bob Mpinganjira describing the move as a major boost to the team’s CAF Confederation Cup and Super League campaigns.
Speaking after signing the deal, Sulumba expressed delight at returning to Lali Lubani Road.“I am happy to be back at Wanderers and I hope to contribute my talent and experience to propel the Nomads to the levels they desire,” said Sulumba.
Coach Mpinganjira hailed the signing, saying the forward’s arrival will inject much-needed experience and depth into Wanderers’ attack as the club looks to address its scoring woes.
Sulumba, who last featured for Wanderers in 2023, recently returned to Malawi after a stint in Libya with Al Nasr Zliten in the Second Division. Although he netted seven goals and helped the club secure a fourth-place finish, his contract was not renewed due to foreign player quota restrictions.
The striker’s career includes spells with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Civil Service United, Creck Sporting, and multiple stints with Wanderers, having first left the Nomads for Bullets in 2016 before returning in 2022.
