Fuel Tanker Overturns at Lupuha in Mzimba Following Collision

A major incident was reported at Lupuha in Mzimba district after a fuel tanker carrying approximately 38,000 litres of fuel overturned following a collision with a saloon car. The accident occurred when the tanker swerved off the road and overturned.

Mzimba Police Spokesperson Mariah Banda confirmed the incident, stating that the driver of the saloon car fled the scene and is currently at large. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the accident.

Emergency services and police are currently on the scene managing the situation and preventing any potential fuel spillage hazards. The area has been cordoned off, and motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid delays.
