Actor Raymond Cruz, best known for his role as the unpredictable villain Tuco Salamanca on Breaking Bad, was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of misdemeanor battery following an incident involving a neighbor.
According to law enforcement sources who spoke with TMZ, a caller reported that Cruz assaulted their daughter by allegedly spraying her with a garden hose. The incident occurred outside Cruz’s home in the Silverlake area.
Sources say Cruz was washing his car when he asked the girl to move. When she refused, he allegedly turned the hose on, leaving her believing it was done on purpose.
Cruz was booked into custody but has since been released on his own recognizance. He is expected to return to court on October 1.
Since the matter involves a misdemeanor, the case will be handled by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office. In many such cases, prosecution is deferred in favor of an office hearing, where the accused may receive a warning or agree to attend anger management classes in exchange for having the charges dropped.
Aside from his role in Breaking Bad, Cruz has enjoyed a steady television career with appearances in long-running series such as The Closer and Major Crimes.
