Former Deputy Police Commissioner John Nyondo Dies at 65

Former Deputy Police Commissioner John Nyondo has died at the age of 65.
His brother, Alexander Mwamlima, confirmed the news, saying Nyondo passed away yesterday morning at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, where he was receiving medical treatment.
Mr. Mwamlima said that Nyondo had been complaining of stomach problems leading up to his death, although doctors were unable to determine the exact cause of his illness.
He expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Nyondo — who also served as Chief of Nakasinde in the Mwaulambya Chiefdom in Chitipa District — as the pillar of their family.
According to Mr. Mwamlima, the funeral is expected to take place next Wednesday in Chitipa District.
